Ci hanno detto di proseguire e che stavano per arrivare loro in elicottero, dato che avevano già avuto segnalazioni: se necessario, ci avrebbero richiamati". Insieme ai due finanzieri, Comune era partito dal rifugio des Cosmiques all'1,30, per raggiungere la vetta del Monte Bianco lungo la via normale francese dei Trois Mont Blanc. Al momento del distacco "diverse cordate di alpinisti si stavano muovendo nelle vicinanze": tutti i 15 alpinisti coinvolti sono stati presi in carico dai servizi di soccorso e condotti negli ospedali di Sallanches e Annecy. Sul posto, dopo l'allarme sono intervenuti elicotteri della gendarmeria nazionale e della protezione civile francese, due squadre cinofile con i soccorritori di vigili del fuoco e del Peloton de gendarmerie de haute montagne di Chamonix oltre al personale sanitario.
