La minore gravità lunare, infatti, incide anche sul tempo che scorre leggerissimamente più veloce; circa 58,7 microsecondi per ogni giorno terrestre. Trascurabile per missioni brevi ma, a lungo andare, potrebbe rappresentare un problema, soprattutto per la precisione dei sistemi di navigazione.
