(askanews) - Ventuno giorni nello Spazio, di cui 435 ore a bordo della Stazione Spaziale Internazionale, completando 288 orbite attorno alla Terra e percorrendo oltre 12 milioni di chilometri per condurre una serie di 56 tra esperimenti e attività di ricerca in microgravità, alcuni per compiti di Difesa e altri a scopo di ricerca, anche in collaborazione con l'Agenzia spaziale italiana (Asi).Sono i numeri della missione spaziale commerciale Ax-3 Voluntas, affidata dal Ministero della Difesa all'astronauta italiano Walter Villadei, Colonnello dell'Aeronautica Militare, la prima missione spaziale privata per il nostro Paese, organizzata con l'azienda americana Axiom Space e frutto di una sinergia che ha coinvolto l'intero sistema Paese, con il coinvolgimento anche della stessa Asi e di numerosi enti di ricerca e industrie private italiane del settore aerospaziale. "Abbiamo dimostrato - ha detto - che il modello che abbiamo creato per realizzare la missione è un modello vincente che funziona. Quindi come Aeronautica e come Difesa abbiamo ha creato il contenitore, abbiamo stimolato un'interazione col mondo accademico, con l'Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, col mondo industriale, quindi componenti che esprimono le eccellenze che l'Italia ha.
