(askanews) - La Difesa e l'Aeronautica Militare saranno a bordo della missione spaziale Ax-3 di Axiom Space, il cui lancio è previsto non prima di gennaio 2024 e che porterà il Colonnello Walter Villadei sulla Stazione Spaziale Internazionale, con un equipaggio, interamente di origini europee, di 4 persone, ai comandi dell'ex astronauta della Nasa Michael Lopez-Alegrìa, nato in Spagna e al quale si è appena aggiunto l'astronauta svedese dell'Esa, Marcus Wandt.Villadei sarà il pilota della navetta Crew Dragon che porterà l'equipaggio sulla ISS."La presenza di un ufficiale italiano a bordo della missione - ha commentato il ministro della Difesa, Guido Crosetto - è un passo fondamentale nello sviluppo della strategia italiana per lo Spazio, in cui la Difesa condivide e supporta lo sforzo del Governo, delle istituzioni e delle aziende del Paese.
