Nata negli Stati Uniti come emittente via cavo, ora viene distribuita anche via satellite, e alcune delle sue produzioni, come “Game of Thrones”, “Deadwood” e “Band of Brothers”, vengono considerate pietre miliari della serialità per le soluzioni innovative, la qualità delle riprese e i grandi nomi degli attori coinvolti.“True Detective”, giunta in queste settimane alla sua quarta serie e visibile in Italia su Now e Sky Atlantic, non fa eccezione. Nelle prime tre avevano recitato tra gli altri Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams e Mahershala Ali. Nelle indagini Liz è aiutata dalla poliziotta Evangeline Navarro, interpretata da Kali Reis, una ex pugile che ha conquistato due titoli mondiali in due diverse categorie di peso. Reis si dimostra a suo agio anche davanti alle telecamere, nella parte di una nativa che crede nel soprannaturale e riceve oscuri messaggi da persone morte o scomparse. La scena si svolge nel villaggio immaginario di Ennis, a 150 chilometri dal circolo polare, che per tutto l’inverno artico non vede la luce del sole. In realtà le riprese sono state girate in Islanda, ma le troupe hanno dovuto affrontare lo stesso tipo di problemi: neve, ghiaccio, temperature estreme, venti impetuosi e nebbie improvvise e mortali. Il risultato è spettacolare, e la trama tiene lo spettatore con il fiato sospeso. Al momento in cui scrivo ancora non ho visto l’ultima delle sei puntate, che dovrebbe chiarire i tanti misteri.
