Il commissario dell'Autorità portuale di Trieste eMonfalcone, Vittorio Torbianelli, sottolinea che "il trafficopetrolifero non è stato intaccato da Suez perché la logistica èmolto meno sensibile su quell'aspetto", e che "Trieste èfortunata perché ha un modello logistico fondato sulla ferrovia,quindi le compagnie prima di fare modifiche ci pensano moltobene: da qui i treni arrivano in Baviera, Cechia, Austria,Ungheria". Inoltre, lo scalo giuliano "non è un portoiperspecializzato": che significa Far East, Middle East e India(che potrebbe diventare un nuovo protagonista mondiale),traffici intramediterranei.Prescindendo tuttavia dai fatti contingenti, su Suez e il suoruolo politico occorrerà avviare un dibattito: il Napa,l'Associazione dei Porti del Nord-Adriatico ha già inviato undocumento alla Commissione europea per l'avvio di un ampioconfronto sul tema.
