Nel suo primo avviso, l'agenzia meteorologica giapponese ha affermato che un forte terremoto potrebbe essere più probabile in seguito alla scossa di magnitudo 7.1 registrata giovedì nel Sud del Paese, dove si contano 14 feriti. "Sono preoccupata per il 70%, ma d'altra parte so da sempre che prima o poi sarebbe arrivato un mega terremoto, quindi direi che sono relativamente ben preparata", afferma una residente della capitale nipponica, 45 anni. "Quindi abbiamo cibo per l'emergenza, una toilette portatile, caschi, coperte: questo è il tipo di cose che abbiamo già preparato", aggiunge la donna. "Il bar dove lavoro è in un seminterrato, quindi se avviene un terremoto all'improvviso, ci sono buone probabilità di non riuscire a scappare. "Sono preoccupato", ammette Nemoto, 55 anni, già sopravvissuto al disastro e allo tsunami di Fukushima da dove proviene. "Non importa dove si registra il terremoto, penso sia necessario che il governo emetta un avvertimento come questo e renda le persone consapevoli", sottolinea. "Sono un escursionista, pertanto ho forse due settimane di cibo e gas, anche se sono un po' a corto di acqua.
