Fonti Ue spiegano cheBruxelles "si era impegnata" a far sì che la dichiarazione fossedei 27 Paesi membri, ma "l'Ungheria ha messo il veto". "L'Ue elogia la determinazione del popolo venezuelano aesercitare il proprio diritto di voto in modo pacifico enumeroso. L'Ue riconosce l'impegno dell'opposizione nel processoelettorale nonostante le condizioni di disparità. La volontà delpopolo venezuelano deve essere rispettata", sottolinea Borrell,che aggiunge: "L'Ue invita il Consiglio elettorale venezuelano(CNE) a esercitare la massima trasparenza nel processo ditabulazione dei risultati, compresa la concessione dell'accessoimmediato ai registri di voto di ciascun seggio elettorale e lapubblicazione di risultati elettorali disaggregati. L'Ue invitainoltre le autorità a garantire un'indagine completa etempestiva di eventuali reclami e lamentele post-elettorali"."L'Unione europea si rammarica che nessuna delle principaliraccomandazioni della Missione di osservazione elettoraledell'UE del 2021 sia stata attuata. Gli ostacoli allapartecipazione dei candidati dell'opposizione, le carenze nelregistro degli elettori e lo squilibrio nell'accesso ai mediahanno contribuito a creare condizioni elettorali diseguali.
