migranti,tra cui alcuni respinti con la forza da Atene, che stavanotentando di raggiungere illegalmente le isole greche vicine allacosta della Turchia. Ventitré migranti, tra cui dieci bambini,sono stati trovati alla deriva su un gommone respinto dalleautorità greche nelle acque territoriali turche al largo dellacosta di Karaburun, in provincia di Smirne e nelle vicinanzedelle isole greche di Lesbo e Chios, ha fatto sapere la Guardiacostiera di Ankara, riferisce Daily Sabah. Gli altri 36migranti, tra cui 12 bambini, sono stati messi in salvo semprein provincia di Smirne ma a largo della costa di Dikili, difronte all'isola di Lesbo, dopo che hanno chiesto aiuto inseguito alla rottura del gommone sul quale stavano viaggiando.Dopo essere stati tratti in salvo, i migranti sono staticonsegnati all'ufficio provinciale per la migrazione.Ankara accusa regolarmente Atene di respingere verso le acqueterritoriali turche migranti che tentano di raggiungereillegalmente le isole greche. Secondo i dati della Turchia, trail 2010 e il 2023 la Guardia costiera di Ankara ha salvato184.175 migranti nell'Egeo, mentre nello stesso periodo sono 923quelli che hanno perso la vita e 503 quelli dispersi dopo che leloro imbarcazioni sono affondate.In seguito alla crisi migratoria del 2015, Turchia e UnioneEuropea hanno raggiunto nel 2016 un accordo a partire dal qualeBruxelles eroga fondi per la gestione dei migranti che sitrovano in territorio turco, oltre 3 milioni di persone, mentrele forze di sicurezza di Ankara si impegnano a tenere chiuse lefrontiere a coloro che tentano di raggiungere l'Europaillegalmente.
