Ad annunciarlo è il presidente della Campania, Vincenzo De Luca, nel corso del suo consueto appuntamento con la diretta Facebook del venerdì pomeriggio: "Avevamo avuto una discussione nei mesi scorsi sulla realizzazione di una quarta linea nell'impianto di Acerra che derivava da un ragionamento di questo tipo - spiega il governatore -: l'impianto di Acerra è attivo da 15 anni e il problema della manutenzione comincia a diventare urgente. Quando si fa la manutenzione si blocca una linea e se blocchi una linea hai il problema di smaltire centomila tonnellate di rifiuti in un anno che non riesci a lavorare lì: la quarta linea non si aggiungeva alle altre tre, era una linea di riserva che si attivava quando si chiudeva un'altra linea per i lavori di manutenzione". "Quello di Acerra - prosegue De Luca - è un territorio massacrato in questi anni da decine di impianti di trasformazione dei rifiuti e dunque vi era una particolare sensibilità da parte della popolazione e un elemento di sfiducia. Quindi abbiamo approfondito il ragionamento e, siccome dovremo fare entro l'anno la gara per scegliere il nuovo gestore dell'impianto di termovalorizzazione, abbiamo individuato questa soluzione: nel capitolato di gara mettiamo un vincolo, chi si aggiudica la gestione dell'impianto per i prossimi vent'anni deve impegnarsi a portare fuori regione le centomila tonnellate di rifiuti che rimangono per terra quando si fa la manutenzione.
