israeliano contro una scuola di Gaza City, secondo quanto dichiarato da fonti mediche e di sicurezza nel territorio palestinese. L'ufficio stampa del governo controllato da Hamas a Gaza ha dichiarato che l'esercito israeliano ha attaccato la scuola, utilizzata come rifugio per gli sfollati, durante le preghiere del mattino. L'informazione è stata verificata in modo indipendente. L'esercito israeliano (Idf) dal canto suo ha dichiarato di aver colpito i militanti di Hamas che "operavano nella scuola Al-Taba'een e vicino a una moschea a Daraj Tuffah, che serve come rifugio per i residenti di Gaza City" e che il centro "serviva come nascondiglio per i terroristi e i comandanti di Hamas". L'esercito israeliano non ha fornito informazioni sulle vittime nella dichiarazione pubblicata su Telegram, ma ha affermato che "sono state prese numerose misure per mitigare il rischio di danneggiare i civili", mentre ha accusato l'organizzazione militante palestinese Hamas di "sfruttare brutalmente la popolazione civile e le istituzioni come scudi umani per le loro attività di terrore".Il "deliberato assassinio" di palestinesi disarmati durante il raid oggi contro la scuola a Gaza City, usata come rifugio per gli sfollati, mostra che "Israele non ha la volontà politica" di mettere fine alla guerra a Gaza. E' quanto ha dichiarato con una nota il ministero degli Esteri egiziano. Il raid è arrivato dopo che Israele ha accettato l'appello rivolto da Egitto, Stati Uniti e Qatar per un round conclusivo dei negoziati per raggiungere un accordo per il cessate il fuoco, fissato per il 15 agosto. Nella dichiarazione si afferma che il fatto che Israele "commetta questi crimini in larga scala, come l'assassinio deliberato di civili ogni volta che gli sforzi dei mediatori si intensificano, è la prova definitiva della mancanza di volontà politica di mettere fine a questa guerra brutale". Al contrario, prosegue la nota del ministero egiziano, Israele "persiste" nel provocare "la continua sofferenza umana dei palestinesi sotto il peso di una catastrofe umanitaria internazionale che il mondo è incapace di fermare".Nonostante questo l'Egitto riafferma l'impegno diplomatico per "garantire l'ingresso di aiuti umanitari con diversi e mezzi e lavorare per arrivare ad un cessate il fuoco, a prescindere da quanto sia difficile o da quanti ostacoli vi siano".Nelle ultime settimane, gli attacchi alle scuole da parte di Israele sono diventati molto più frequenti, con Israele che ha preso di mira sette plessi scolastici, secondo l’Ufficio delle Nazioni Unite per i diritti umani. In un rapporto di questa settimana, le Nazioni Unite affermano di essere “inorridite” dall’escalation. I gruppi per i diritti umani affermano che ci sono prove che Israele non sta facendo abbastanza per distinguere i civili dai combattenti a Gaza, dove la guerra, che dura da mesi, ha ucciso almeno 39.699 persone (secondo un bilancio fornito venerdì), secondo i funzionari sanitari locali.
