straordinario alla Peste suina africana, Vincenzo Caputo, e i rappresentanti dei parchi nazionali, regionali e delle riserve provinciali della Basilicata. Ad affiancare il delegato nazionale al tavolo dei relatori, l'assessore regionale Cosimo Latronico, i direttori generali dei dipartimenti Ambiente e Agricoltura, Roberto Tricomi ed Emilia Piemontese, e il funzionario dell'ufficio Prevenzione sanità umana, veterinaria e sicurezza alimentare del dipartimento Salute, Gerardo Salvatore.L'assessore Latronico, portando i saluti degli altri componenti del governo regionale coinvolti nell'emergenza della peste suina africana, Francesco Fanelli e Alessandro Galella, ha evidenziato il lavoro portato avanti dalla Regione, con un piano di abbattimento selettivo della specie cinghiale realizzato nei mesi scorsi, ovvero prima del diffondersi dell'infezione virale che colpisce i suini. "La Basilicata - ha detto - è appena lambita dal fenomeno, ma dobbiamo avviare azioni coordinate di contrasto per controllare la popolazione dei cinghiali che, in termini numerici, tende a esplodere. Il supporto tecnico e operativo del Commissario Caputo - ha proseguito - diventa fondamentale per i diversi soggetti in campo, compresi i referenti dei parchi lucani che, in questa vicenda, si trovano ad avere un ruolo decisivo".Latronico ha inoltre ricordato che "l'ente, attraverso la stazione unica appaltante, ha varato una gara che prevede l'erogazione di importanti risorse economiche per gestire l'emergenza che continua a creare allarme per la sicurezza dei cittadini, la biodiversità che abbiamo il dovere di salvaguardare, ma anche per le ricadute che una crisi sanitaria avrebbe soprattutto sulle aziende zootecniche".Il Commissario straordinario ha apprezzato il lavoro che la Basilicata sta portando avanti, sottolineando come la sinergia politica e tecnica tra i dipartimenti Ambiente, Agricoltura e Salute sia in linea con lo spirito dell'ordinanza che sta per essere emanata per avversare il fenomeno e che prevede dei veri e propri gruppi operativi territoriali. "Il nuovo decreto-legge voluto dal governo italiano - ha detto Caputo - ci impone di porre in essere strategie per il diradamento e il contenimento della specie cinghiale che ha un ruolo estremamente importante nella diffusione della malattia.
