(askanews) - La presidente del Consiglio Giorgia Meloni incontrerà domani a Pechino il primo ministro cinese Li Qiang. La premier è arrivata nella capitale della Cina intorno alle 16,30 di oggi ora locale (le 10 in Italia) insieme alla figlia Ginevra. Gli appuntamenti ufficiali inizieranno però domani pomeriggio alle 16,30 (10,30 italiane) con l'incontro con Qiang nella Grande Sala del Popolo. Al centro del colloquio i rapporti bilaterali, che devono essere ricuciti e rilanciati dopo l'uscita dell'Italia dal Memorandum sulla via della Seta.L'interscambio commerciale si è attestato nel 2023 a 66,8 miliardi di euro, facendo della Cina il 2° partner commerciale extra-Ue (dopo gli Usa) dell'Italia. A ciò si aggiungono uno stock di investimenti diretti esteri italiani pari a 15 miliardi e oltre 1600 aziende italiane attive nel Paese nei settori tessile, meccanica, farmaceutica, energia e industria pesante. A questo proposito, sempre domani alle 18 Meloni porterà poi il suo saluto ai partecipanti al Business Forum Italia-Cina. Prima di lei interverranno il ministro del Commercio e il premier cinese. Meloni parteciperà quindi alla cena offerta da Li Qiang.Il momento principale della missione sarà però l'incontro con il presidente Xi Jinping, previsto per lunedì. Con il leader cinese Meloni parlerà non solo di rapporti bilaterali ma anche di temi internazionali, a partire dalla guerra in Ucraina. Meloni, giunta a Pechino a pochi giorni dalla visita del ministro degli Esteri di Kiev Kuleba, ribadirà la posizione del G7 sul sostegno a Kiev e con ogni probabilità solleciterà Xi a un impegno per arrivare a una pace "giusta e duratura"".
