(askanews) - Avrebbe dovuto segnare il ritorno degli Stati Uniti sulla Luna dopo le missioni Apollo degli anni '70 e prima delle nuove missioni Artemis ma la navetta privata americana Peregrine, il lander costruito da Astrobotic per la Nasa e lanciato, con un razzo Vulcan della United Launch Alliance (Ula) l'8 gennaio 2024, potrebbe mancare il suo obiettivo.Qualche ora dopo il partenza, infatti, come mostra questa foto postata su X dalla stessa Astrobotic con evidenti segni di ammaccature e danneggiamenti, sono state rilevate delle anomalie con un'avaria del sistema di propulsione, probabilmente una perdita di carburante che potrebbe compromettere seriamente la missione, facendo saltare l'allunaggio, previsto per il 23 febbraio. L'avaria avrebbe impedito alla navetta di orientarsi correttamente verso il Sole per ricaricare le batterie e alimentare i suoi sistemi.
