Israele si prepara alla sua risposta dura a seguito della strage di ragazzini in un campo di calcio nelle Alture del Golan, a Majdal Shams, forte del suo "diritto a fdifendersi" e del sostegno degli Stati Uniti. "Questi bambini sono i nostri figli. Lo Stato di Israele non vuole e non può permettere che ciò avvenga", ha detto il premier Benjamin Netanyahu, mentre Hezbollah continua a lanciare i suoi razzi e sposta l'artiglieria verso Nord: ci si prepara alla guerra. Ma tutto intorno è frentica l'attività delle diplomazie internazionali per scongiurare l'escalation e cercare di porre fine al botta e risposta delle bombe. La trattativa a "guida" italiana Al centro della trattativa c'è il fiume Litani che sfocia nel Mediterraneo trenta chilometri a Nord rispetto al confine tra Israele e Libano e che potrebbe rappresentare la linea su cui spostare il fronte. La diplomazia internazionale composta da Washington, Beirut, Gerusalemme, Teheran, Abu Dhabi e anche Roma (in Libano si trovano 1200 soldati italiani della missione Unifil e altri 3mila civili lì residenti ndr) lavora perché gli armamenti di Hezbollah vengano spostati oltre quest'area e formare così una sorta di zona cuscinetto sufficiente a contenere gli attacchi quotidiani. Significherebbe, scrive Repubblica, attuare l’articolo 8 della risoluzione 1701 delle Nazioni Unite. Che porterebbe al rispetto degli accordi del 2006, quando le bombe si concentrarono proprio sulla città di Tiro, sul fiume Litani. Tra le voci ascoltate c'è proprio quella dell'Italia con il ministro degli Esteri, Antonio Tajani, a lanciarla, proprio per via di quella importante presenza militare a Beirut sotto l'egida dell'Onu. Una trattativa concreta ma che, per la verità, va avanti da mesi senza trovare il giusto approdo. Tanto meno ora. Anche se il portavoce di Unifil, Andrea Tenenti, parlando con il Corriere della sera, dice che "la preoccupazione non manca ma lo spazio per una soluzione diplomatica è ancora aperto". Netanuyahu e l'attacco concordato con gli UsaA disinnescarla ci ha pensato lo stesso Netanyahu che si è accordato per una risposta militare con gli Stati Uniti che lo finanziano fornendogli le armi. Dice Repubblica che l'inviato americano per questa zona del Medioriente è Amos Hochstein ed è lui che sta trattando sui termini della risposta all'attacco. Il modello è quello della reazione israeliana all'attacco iraniano del aprile scorso, una operazione chirurgica, accettata da entrambe le parti come soddisfacente e senza strascichi, che non portò, come molti temevano, all'escalation.  Conviene a tutti. Se Israele non accettasse il limite, rischierebbe di trovarsi sotto una pioggia di missili. Se infatti da una parte Hezbollah assicura di non voler andare oltre, dall'altra una fonte della milizia assicura a France Press che in caso contrario sarebbe pronta a combattimenti a tutto campo. Il timore quindi è concreto. Le comunità druse siriane e libanesi hanno chiesto di abbassare i toni. Esse vivono nelle alture del Golan che formalmente appartengono alla Siria ma sono sotto occupazione israeliana: eppure non sentono di appartenenre né agli uni, né agli altri. Hanno sempre rifiutato la cittadinanza israeliana e respingono l'appartenenza libanese come anche quella siriana. Israele ha occupato le alture del Golan nel 1981 dopo averle sottratte alla Siria durante la guerra dei Sei giorni del 1967. Sono delle zone strategicamente importanti a cui Israele non vuole rinunciare. Hanno un'estensione di 840 chilometri quadrati e si trovano al confine Libano e Giordania.
