Voglio partire da qui, da questa ferita ancorapresente nella memoria collettiva del nostro continente percreare consenso in sede di Parlamento europeo anche grazie allavoro della delegazione parlamentare italiana perché questadata diventi anche una 'Giornata europea' della memoria". E' laproposta lanciata dal vicepremier Antonio Tajani in occasionedell'anniversario del Bois du Cazier, in Belgio, dove l'8 agosto1956 persero la vita 262 minatori, dei quali 136 italiani. La ricorrenza diventata simbolo delle morti sul lavoro"costituisce un momento chiave nella vita delle comunitàitaliane nel mondo, quale simbolo del loro straordinariocontributo al benessere dei Paesi di accoglienza e del lorosforzo di integrazione attraverso il lavoro - sottolinea Tajani-. È così per Marcinelle, è così per tutte le altre tragediedell'emigrazione italiana, come quella della minierastatunitense di Monongah, che già nel 1907 era costata la vita acentinaia di nostri connazionali.
