l'imprenditore singaporese Ching Chiat Kwongper la vicenda dei 'Pili', il terreno a ridosso della grondalagunare di proprietà del suo blind trust.L'intervento di Brugnaro viene esaminato assieme a tutta ladocumentazione acquisita dalla Guardia di Finanza nel blitz del16 luglio scorso nelle sedi delle aziende partecipate del Comunee di quelle private. Sulla vicenda, che risale al 2016, Brugnaro era giàintervenuto in Consiglio altre volte, e in ognuna avrebbefornito versioni diverse. Il 5 novembre 2020 aveva affermato chel'area fosse "sempre stata edificabile" e di aver pensato che"era meglio restasse a un veneziano piuttosto che andare a unamultinazionale straniera" ma che nessuno aveva presentatoprogetti. Il 21 ottobre 2021, aveva fatto degli accenni allavalutazione dell'area da parte della società "Porta di VeneziaSpa" da 15 a 85 milioni, che per la Procura erano un'ammissionedi conoscenza di ciò che faceva la sua società passata in capoal blind trust.Solo nella seduta del Consiglio di una settimana fa, infine,per la prima volta Brugnaro avrebbe ammesso di aver avutorapporti con Ching per illustrargli le opportunità diinvestimento sui Pili ma "il progetto era troppo impattante enon mi è piaciuto niente e ho avuto grandi dubbi sulla bontà delprogetto, il cui scopo principale doveva essere la realizzazionedel palasport al servizio della città", aveva concluso.
