(Adnkronos Salute) - "Il Piano nazionale di prevenzione vaccinale del 2023 prevede che ogni anno possa esistere un aggiornamento delle offerte vaccinali. In questo momento il dibattito è abbastanza fervido per le novità scientifiche che ci sono, sia a livello regionale che a livello nazionale. In particolare si sta pensando di aggiungere, ai vaccini attualmente offerti, anche quello contro il virus respiratorio sinciziale (Rsv), responsabile di un'infezione respiratoria che ha un impatto, sulla salute delle persone anziane e fragili, abbastanza importante. Queste forme respiratorie gravi da Rsv, inoltre, tendono a colpire anche i bambini molto piccoli, quindi ci si sta muovendo anche per la protezione immunitaria dei più piccoli". Lo ha detto Carlo Signorelli, professore ordinario di Igiene dell'Università Vita Salute San Raffaele e presidente Nitag (National immunization technical advisory group), all'Adnkronos Salute, intervenendo oggi a Roma alla sessione dedicata alla prevenzione vaccinale agli Stati generali dell'assistenza a lungo termine 'Long-Term Care Nine: verso una nuova stagione per l'assistenza agli anziani?', che ogni anno Italia Longeva organizza al ministero della Salute. "In questo momento - ricorda Signorelli - il calendario vaccinale prevede in tutte le regioni italiane la vaccinazione stagionale antinfluenzale", quella "contro pneumococco e contro lo zoster, oltre al richiamo annuale per il Covid-19. Queste vaccinazioni sono consigliate agli anziani e sono consigliate anche ai cosiddetti fragili, cioè alle persone con malattie croniche, che possono avere più di 65 anni, ma anche meno, che sono una categoria a rischio particolare di contrarre quelle malattie e di subirne i danni peggiori". Alcune Regioni "si sono portate avanti prevedendo già di inserire" anche le nuove immunizzazioni "nei loro calendari vaccinali, perché sappiamo che le Regioni possono aggiungere prestazioni, e quindi anche vaccinazioni, di loro iniziativa se i vaccini, come in questo caso, sono regolarmente registrati - precisa l'esperto - L'auspicio per il futuro è, innanzitutto, che ci possa essere un'equità d'offerta e che non ci siano 21 calendari con differenze importanti tra regione e regione".
