Il presidente, ospite del tenore per la serata inaugurale, ha espresso la sua soddisfazione per gli incredibili risultati raggiunti dall'artista ed ha annunciato che a breve la Regione consegnerà a Bocelli il Pegaso, simbolo della Toscana. "Andrea Bocelli - ha detto Giani - può essere a pieno diritto annoverato tra le eccellenze che hanno fatto grande la Toscana. Dico questo con piena convinzione, pensando certo alle sue qualità canore, ma soprattutto alla costanza, alla determinazione, all'impegno e all'amore con il quale ha portato avanti progetti artistici lungimiranti, che hanno fatto ricadere effetti benefici sulla sua terra di origine. Con il Teatro del silenzio ha creato nelle campagne di Lajatico un posto magico, unico nel mondo, oltre ad aver dato vita ad una rassegna che ogni anno attrae in Toscana un turismo culturale di eccellenza e grandi nomi del panorama internazionale della musica e dell'arte.
