Dopo un viaggio di 36 ore, l'equipaggio si aggancerà alla ISS domani mattina, sabato 20 gennaio. Ad accompagnare gli astronauti - tra cui il colonello dell'Aeronautica italiana Walter Villadei - anche la bandiera con la croce bianca a otto punte del Sovrano Militare Ordine di Malta."Dopo essere stata dispiegata nel corso di nove secoli nei cinque continenti, la nostra bandiera ha varcato anche i confini terrestri. La bandiera con la croce ottagona, anche nota come "bandiera delle Opere", è il vessillo sotto il quale da quasi mille anni si adoperano in 120 paesi del mondo oltre 150mila persone, tra membri, volontari e dipendenti dell'Ordine di Malta, al fine di alleviare la sofferenza del prossimo e per diffondere il messaggio di pace e di speranza proveniente dal Sommo Pontefice.In occasione dell'iniziativa, le Poste Magistrali dell'Ordine di Malta hanno dedicato uno speciale annullo postale che riproduce una immagine della Stazione Spaziale Internazionale in orbita terrestre, affiancata dalla bandiera della attività dell'Ordine di Malta.
