viene filtrata, umidificata e termoregolata in modo da raggiungere la temperatura di 35 gradi, ideale per la funzionalità respiratoria e polmonare e tutto questo avviene proprio grazie alla specifica struttura del naso. Durante l'inspirazione, i piccoli peli che si trovano all'interno delle narici e il sistema mucociliare simulano il rilascio di molecole antibatteriche, una vera e propria barriera protettiva che abbatte la carica di polveri e batteri presenti nell'aria prima che arrivi agli alveoli polmonari. Sono alcuni dei temi trattati dall'otorinolaringoiatra Giovanni Felisati, intervistato da Marco Klinger, per Medicina Top, format tv dell'agenzia di stampa Italpress. "È importante respirare col naso perché l'aria che noi respiriamo viene termoregolata dalle strutture nasali e quindi arriva in migliori condizioni ai bronchi, che necessitano di avere un'aria filtrata e termoregolata. Ma il naso serve anche perché ha una funzione estetica al centro della faccia, ha una funzione olfattiva che oggi è sempre più importante, ha una funzione di difesa perché fa da filtro".Respirare con la bocca, "ad esempio per un bambino, determina un'alterazione di sviluppo del palato. Ma tutti noi respirando male, viviamo male: probabilmente abbiamo un cattivo sonno e una cattiva qualità della vita", ha spiegato. "Un naso che sta bene deve essere una via di mezzo fra un tunnel in cui l'aria passa completamente libera e un termosifone. Dobbiamo volere che il nostro naso respiri bene, per avere una migliore qualità della vita e anche in prospettiva per avere una longevità sana". Può succedere che, col passare dell'età, una persona possa respirare peggio? "Sulla respirazione ci sono tante cose che possono impattare, l'unica soluzione è capire dov'è il problema", ha sottolineato. Sulle abitudini quotidiane, "oggi si parla sempre di più dei lavaggi nasali: non credo che tutti si debbano lavare il naso, però quando c'è un problema tenerlo pulito è una buona cosa e, se c'è un'allergia, bisogna curarlo.
