(askanews) - I temi del riscaldamento globale e dei cambiamenti climatici, con le conseguenze che comportano nella nostra vita di tutti i giorni, anche in termini di Difesa, sono stati al centro di un convegno dal titolo "Le implicazioni del cambiamento climatico sulle politiche di Difesa e Sicurezza", organizzato su iniziativa del senatore Maurizio Gasparri, dal Cesma (Centro Studi Militari Aerospaziali) e dall'Associazione Arma Aeronautica al Senato, nella Sala Capitolare di Palazzo della Minerva, a Roma.Presenti diversi scienziati e ricercatori esperti di climatologia nonché rappresentanti dell'Aeronautica Militare, tra cui il Generale di Brigata Luca Baione, capo dell'ufficio per l'Aviazione militare e la Meteorologia (Aviamm) e rappresentante permanente dell'Italia pressol'Organizzazione Meteorologica Mondiale che, nel suo intervento, ha posto l'accento sulle eccellenze italiane nel campo della formazione in campo meteorologico, ricordando, in particolare, il Campus universitario istituito a Monte Cimone (Mo) dove l'Aeronautica Militare opera uno dei 31 osservatori mondiali per il monitoraggio dei gas serra nell'atmosfera. "Questa eccellenza - ha spiegato il Gen. Baione - ci consente di avere una serie ininterrotta di monitoraggio di CO2 in atmosfera più antica di Europa, dal 1979; è la seconda più antica del mondo, solo dopo l'analoga stazione degli Stati Uniti nelle Hawaii, nella località di Mauna Loa e tutto questo è stato promosso proprio ai fini della education. Auspicabilmente, la prossima estate faremo il taglio del nastro per avviare questo campus che sarà a beneficio di tutte le generazioni".I cambiamenti climatici hanno un impatto notevole sulla nostra vita, non solo per i fenomeni meteo o la qualità dell'aria che respiriamo ma anche, in termini di Space weather, per esempio le tempeste solari.
