(askanews) - Nonostante i suoi 34 anni in orbita, il telescopio spaziale Hubble non smette di stupire. Questa straordinaria immagine, infatti, scattata proprio dal suo obiettivo, riprende una baby stella in fase di formazione. Si tratta di Fs Tau B che vediamo a destra della foto, avvolta da gas e polveri blu è la compagna di un'altra stella, Fs Tau A la più brillante che si vede verso il centro dell'immagine. Il sistema binario si trova a circa 450 anni luce dal Sole e ha un'età stimata di 2,8 milioni di anni; dal punto di vista astronomico è molto giovani, anzi... poco più che neonato. Le due stelle sono collocate nella nube del Toro, una zona del braccio di Orione della Via Lattea che ospita molte giovani stelle in fase di formazione.Hubble ha iniziato a indagare queste due sorelle galattiche analizzando i dischi di polvere che circondano le giovani stelle.
