Tra loro il Generale di Brigata Aerea Davide Cipelletti, Capo dell'Ufficio generale per lo Spazio dello Stato Maggiore della Difesa e Tommaso Ghidini , Capo della Divisione Strutture, Meccanismi e Materiali dell'Esa (Agenzia Spaziale Europea) e ufficiale della Riserva dell'Aeronautica Militare."Le ricadute sono molteplici - ha detto - prima di tutto dobbiamo chiederci quali sono le tecnologie che ci servono per fare un volo di questo tipo. Semplicissimo: propulsione, materiali, strutture, capacità quindi di volare ad altissime temperature e di volare in maniera precisa, quindi navigazione. Tutte queste tecnologie ce le ritroveremo poi in ambienti molto più vicini a noi come ad esempio il volo. Il volo per il trasporto passeggeri, attuale, sulla Terra ma anche il volo stesso che potrebbe portarci addirittura fuori dall'atmosfera. Volare quindi molto più velocemente e raggiungere i nostri cari molto più rapidamente, quindi avvicinare il mondo".In collegamento dalla Nasa a Houston, inoltre, c'era anche il Colonnello Luca Parmitano, astronauta italiano dell'Esa, già comandante della Stazione Spaziale Internazionale e pilota sperimentatore dell'Aeronautica Militare."È indispensabile agire adesso - ha detto Parmitano - investire su queste risorse per potenziarle e permettere al nostro personale, le nostre donne e i nostri uomini, non solo nella Forza Armata ma anche della vita civile, di poter eccellere nel campo della ricerca e la sperimentazione e nella produzione di futuri veicoli ipersonici, trasnonici e spaziali.
