Vaticano contro la cerimonia d’apertura delle Olimpiadi di Parigi 2024. In una nota si legge che la Santa Sede deplora “l’offesa fatta a tanti cristiani e credenti di altre religioni”. Il riferimento neanche così poi tanto velato è  certamente al tableau intitolato “festività” con ballerine, drag queen e la deejay Barbara Butch. In molti hanno interpretato quella rappresentazione come ispirata all’”Ultima cena” di Leonardo da Vinci. Una ricostruzione smentita dallo stesso regista della cerimonia, Thomas Jolly, che ha spiegato come quella scena fosse una semplice evocazione di “un banchetto degli dei”. Il suo intervento aveva almeno in parte placato le polemiche. Ma ora a intervenire è direttamente il Vaticano.La Santa Sede "è rimasta rattristata da alcune scene della cerimonia di apertura dei Giochi Olimpici di Parigi e non può che unirsi alle voci che si sono levate negli ultimi giorni che deplorano l'offesa fatta a tanti cristiani e credenti di altre religioni. In un evento prestigioso dove il mondo intero si riunisce attorno a valori comuni non si dovrebbero trovare allusioni che ridicolizzino le convinzioni religiose di molti persone".
