Come già accaduto con la missione Artemis I nel 2022, non è previsto un allunaggio vero e proprio ma solo l'inserimento della capsula in orbita lunare e poi il ritorno sulla Terra, solo che questa volta, a bordo, ci sarà un equipaggio umano, composto dal comandante Reid Wiseman e dagli astronauti, Christina Koch e David Walton, della Nasa e Jeremy Hansen, dell'Agenzia spaziale canadese. "Questo è il nostro obiettivo - ha spiegato il comandante Wiseman - uscire ed esplorare il nostro sistema solare, come fanno gli umani. Vogliamo sapere cosa c'è 'dietro l'angolo'.
