Ricordando il valore fondamentale che la nostra Repubblica riconosce al lavoro, la memoria indelebile di quell'immane tragedia deve richiamare l'attenzione delle Istituzioni nazionali ed europee sull'importanza di avere un efficace sistema di tutela della sicurezza nei luoghi di lavoro. Quei minatori furono infatti vittime della mancata adozione di adeguate misure che garantissero la loro incolumità. Ma non dobbiamo dimenticare che ancora oggi, a distanza di 68 anni, la dolorosa piaga delle morti sul lavoro che affligge il nostro Paese non è stata ancora debellata. Come ho più volte sottolineato, è inaccettabile che si possa morire o restare menomati nello svolgimento del proprio lavoro.
