E' fondamentale garantire un percorso formativo che permetta ai medici in formazione di acquisire le competenze necessarie per diventare specialisti qualificati. La critica al sistema attuale, parzializzato e frammentario, è condivisa da molti e l'appello del presidente della Siaarti, Antonello Giarratano, per una riforma seria e di qualità è assolutamente fondato". Così Loreto Gesualdo, presidente Federazione italiana delle società medico-scientifiche, interviene - con una nota - sostenendo la posizione della Società italiana di anestesia analgesia rianimazione e terapia intensiva, nel dibattito acceso in questi giorni dopo il parere del ministero dell'Università e della Ricerca sul ripristino dell'esame per il passaggio d'anno dei medici specializzandi assunti con il cosiddetto 'Decreto Calabria'. "L'interazione di teoria e pratica - spiega Gesualdo - è essenziale per la formazione di medici competenti e sicuri. La divisione tra università e ospedale, alimentata da interessi diversi, non fa altro che danneggiare il sistema nel suo complesso. E' necessario agire con urgenza per garantire la qualità della formazione post laurea e assicurare che i futuri medici siano adeguatamente preparati a svolgere il loro ruolo nel sistema sanitario".La proposta di includere le società scientifiche e gli esperti del settore nella definizione di una riforma efficace, per il presidente Fism "è del tutto ragionevole e dovrebbe essere considerata dalle Istituzioni competenti. La qualità del sistema sanitario e la salute dei cittadini sono strettamente legate alla formazione dei medici e non possiamo permetterci di compromettere questo elemento essenziale.
