aiutato intere generazioni di giovani, grazie al suo «ribollente potere di invenzione verbale», a far breccia nel cuore di una ragazza. Può essere egli tradotto con versi da rapper di periferia? In questo divertissement domenicale, Cesare Protettì si mette sulle tracce di licenze poetiche dei traduttori e sull’umorismo strafottente dei poeti. Alla fine, almeno il mistero dei “mille cazzi” di Prévert sembra risolto… ◆ L’articolo di CESARE A. PROTETTÌ► Può capitare – e a me è capitato pochi giorni fa – di riprendere in mano un volumetto impolverato nella biblioteca di casa. Un testo che ti riporta al secolo scorso, ai tempi della tua gioventù, quando una bella poesia poteva aiutare a far breccia nel cuore di una ragazza. Sfogliandolo non puoi non trasalire davanti alla traduzione italiana della poesia Réverie (L’impensierita). È di solo quattro versi: “Ragazza triste che giochi coi pupazzi/ A cosa pensi mai/Penso ai ragazzi dai mille lazzi/Penso ai ragazzi dai mille cazzi”. Va bene che “pupazzi” è “foriera di temibili rime” (come ha scritto qui in un corsivo, il 14 aprile, Maurizio Menicucci riferendosi alla parola “andazzo”) ma come è possibile che Prévert mi tradisca così? Il poeta di “Cet amour/si violent/si fragil/si tendre/si déspérè”, “Questo amore/bello come il giorno… questo amore così vero/questo amore così felice, così gioioso/…” ecc. mi spara quattro versi da banlieu, da trapper di periferia? Guardo l’edizione. È ben rilegata, con scritte in oro, ma fa parte della Biblioteca Superpocket, supereconomica. Non ha un curatore. Una nota riferisce che le poesie, tutte con testo originale a fronte, sono state riprese da vari testi, con diversi traduttori. In particolare Rêverie (che uno studente tradurrebbe Fantasticherie) è stata presa da Storie e altre storie, con la traduzione di Ivos Margoni, un noto francesista, docente nelle Università di Pescara-Chieti, Napoli, Calabria e Siena.Mi procuro l’edizione originale di Guanda (Gallimard, 1963; Guanda 1996). Nessun errore, nessuno scherzo del tipografo. Solo che nell’originale il protagonista è un ragazzo che pensa alle ragazze dai mille bei culi: “Pauvre jouer de bilboquet/à quoi penses-tu/je pense aux fille aux mille-bouquets/Je pense aux mille beaux culs”. Margoni invece sceglie di attribuire queste fantasticherie a una ragazza, con conseguenti invenzioni legate all’altro sesso. Mi incuriosiscono, diciamo così, le licenze poetiche del traduttore. Navigando nella rete trovo un bel ricordo di Ivos Margoni scritto da Carlo Sgorlon, suo compagno di corso alla Scuola Superiore Normale di Pisa, pubblicato sulla rivista Studi Francesi, dopo la morte di Margoni, avvenuta nel 2006 a Riva del Garda, la cittadina nella quale era nato nel 1929. «Margoni aveva un modo sempre un po’ sorprendente – scrive Sgorlon − di reagire di fronte ai fatti culturali. Esercitava spesso il suo umorismo e a volte anche l’ironia e il sarcasmo nei confronti di personaggi o situazioni culturali accettati da tutti».Capisco qualcosa di più, andando alla nota n.52 richiamata dalla parola bilboquet nel testo francese del libro edito da Guanda: «Bilboquet – spiega Margoni – è un giuoco che consiste in una palla di legno perforata che bisogna infilzare con un bastoncino dopo averla buttata in aria. Prévert deduce, per analogia, mille bouquets (‘mille mazzi’) da mille  bouquets, e sempre per ovvia associazione, mille beaux culs”. Qualche spiegazione in più a proposito delle libertà che si prende il traduttore le troviamo nella Nota del curatore (sempre lo stesso Margoni) in fondo alla raccolta edita da Guanda nella quale fa riferimento al «ribollente potere di invenzione verbale di Prévert che può remotamente ricordare Rabelais». «La sua arte, assai meditata, molto più di quanto possa apparire a prima vista, presenta difficoltà di trasposizione anche disperanti». E aggiunge: «Per quel che riguarda i calembours, frequentissimi ed anzi fondamentali, è stato talvolta necessario, anziché tradurre letteralmente, adattare, e dunque rifare, con risultati tanto più incerti». Non credo che Rêverie sarà una poesia che faranno studiare a scuola, neppure nell’epoca dei trapper.
