(Adnkronos Salute) - "In questi giorni abbiamo rilasciato una nuova ricerca che ci ha visti impegnati in quest'ultimo anno sullo studio della mancata vaccinazione, su una porzione del calendario vaccinale, per alcune vaccinazioni. Abbiamo potuto stimare che il raggiungimento di coperture vaccinali raccomandate minime, oppure ottimali, permetterebbe al sistema di diminuire i costi sociali per circa 3 miliardi di euro e un recupero di risorse, quindi un guadagno in termini di gettito fiscale, per un valore di poco superiore ai 500 milioni di euro", ma anche "un recupero di valore di produzione persa, quindi di prodotto interno lordo (Pil), di circa 10 miliardi". Lo ha detto Eugenio Di Brino, ricercatore Altems - Co-Founder & Partner Altems Advisory, spin-off Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Roma, all'Adnkronos Salute, intervenendo oggi alla sessione dedicata alla prevenzione vaccinale agli Stati generali dell'assistenza a lungo termine 'Long-Term Care Nine', che ogni anno Italia Longeva organizza al ministero della Salute. "Il nostro studio - continua Di Brino - si è focalizzato su diverse vaccinazioni, nello specifico per l'Herpes zoster, il Covid-19, lo pneumococco, il meningococco e l'influenza. Parliamo di popolazioni fragili che, in qualche modo, riescono ad avere maggiori benefici dalla vaccinazione rispetto alla popolazione normale. Come sistema, dovremmo far sì che queste vaccinazioni siano garantite e accessibili. Se riusciamo ad aumentare le coperture vaccinali, il beneficio di salute, oltre che per chi si vaccina, è anche per tutte le persone che non si vaccinano e che sono magari vicine a queste persone.
