Confortato dalla visita medica, nella notte tra il 2 e il 3 agosto il 23enne era partito per la Calabria. Il 5 mattina, i genitori lo hanno trovato accasciato a terra. Trasportato in elicottero all'ospedale di Reggio, il ventitreenne è stato sottoposto a tac con liquido di contrasto, impietoso il verdetto: morte cerebrale. Il cuore ha smesso di battere poche ore dopo.
