(askanews) - È stato probabilmente il Diamond eDA-40 l'outsider più osservato alla trentesima edizione del salone aeronautico di Friedrichshafen, in Germania, tra i più attesi appuntamenti in Europa dedicati all'aviazione generale, alla business aviation e agli sport aeronautici. Il monomotore austriaco sarà il primo aereo elettrico certificato da EASA e FAA (CS/Parte 23) nella sua categoria. Grazie alla ricarica plug-in rapida che consente il pieno di energia in tempi relativamente brevi, è un aereo eccezionalmente sostenibile, perfetto per le scuole di volo del futuro con emissioni pari a zero, rumorosità ridotta, minori costi operativi e un'autonomia di volo di 1,2 ore, per circa 220 Km e un carico utile di 178 Kg. La propulsione elettrica e ibrida degli aerei del domani è stato uno dei leit motiv del salone tedesco con diverse aziende che hanno presentato prodotti innovativi sostenibili, in particolare nel campo degli ultraleggeri, dei motoalianti e degli Apr, i velivoli a pilotaggio remoto, i cosiddetti droni. Tra meeting, convegni, career day e conferenze tecniche, alla manifestazione hanno partecipato 31.500 visitatori provenienti da 81 Paesi di tutto il mondo, con la presenza di oltre 680 espositori di 38 Paesi. In crescita con 35 presenze, anche i numeri delle aziende italiane del settore, sia dell'ala fissa sia dell'ala rotante.
