Non deve però essere un algoritmo a guidare questi cambiamenti, ma la creatività e la voglia di conoscenza dell’essere umano. E' questo il tema centrale dell’intervento con cui Maximo Ibarra, ceo di Engineering, chiuderà il 6 agosto a Roma 'Filosofie sotto le stelle', evento promosso da Roma Capitale (con ingresso gratuito fino a esaurimento posti). Nel corso della serata intitolata 'Menti', che si svolgerà nella splendida cornice dello Stadio Palatino (ore 21.00), Maximo Ibarra racconterà come l’innovazione e le nuove tecnologie possono alimentare e supportare la nostra voglia di sapere. E spiegherà come l’Intelligenza Artificiale può potenziare la nostra creatività, fino a farci realizzare dialoghi inediti con il passato. Nel corso della serata, infatti, Ibarra simulerà una conversazione con gli avatar di Platone e Confucio. Realizzati appositamente per il Festival combinando Intelligenza Artificiale Generativa ed Extended Reality, i due avatar sono stati addestrati per fornire risposte in linea con il pensiero dei due filosofi, diventando così un esempio di come la potenza computazionale dell’Intelligenza Artificiale può essere incanalata in esperienze in grado di mettere insieme innovazione e classicità. Spiega Maximo Ibarra: “L’Intelligenza Artificiale e le tecnologie all’avanguardia hanno raggiunto un livello tale di maturità e componibilità, che possono permetterci di re-immaginare il modo in cui ci rapportiamo al passato e quello in cui disegniamo il nostro futuro. Si tratta di un cambiamento radicale, che deve esaltare la nostra umanità e che deve essere guidato da un senso di responsabilità necessario a far sì che le grandi opportunità di crescita e benessere offerte dal digitale diventino un patrimonio di tutti”. La serata 'Menti', che vedrà sul palco, insieme con Maximo Ibarra, David Chalmers, docente di filosofia e scienze neurali alla New York University, e Sofia Bonicalzi, professoressa associata presso il Dipartimento di Filosofia, Comunicazione e Spettacolo dell’Università di Roma Tre, si svolge in concomitanza con il XXV World Congress of Philosophy – Rome 2024, in programma fino all’8 agosto nella città universitaria della Sapienza Università di Roma.
