dal carbone. Un sorpasso tanto atteso che dovrebbe avvenire nel 2025, almeno secondo le stime elaborate dell’Agenzia Internazionale dell’Energia (AIE) che ha diffuso la notizia. Entrando nel dettaglio del report AIE, il sorpasso delle rinnovabili rispetto al carbone è principalmente dovuto alle performance di crescita del fotovoltaico e, seppur in misura minore, dell’eolico. Ciò detto, i dati indicano che la produzione di energia generata da carbone non dovrebbe diminuire nell’anno in corso a causa, anche, del forte aumento della domanda di alcuni grandi Paesi, soprattutto Cina e India. Parallelamente, in Cina sta crescendo la capacità di generare energia con l’idroelettrico, un fatto che dovrebbe ridurre la quota generata da carbone. L’AIE, inoltre, sottolinea che a livello globale la domanda di energia elettrica nel 2024 dovrebbe crescere di circa il 4%, rispetto all’aumento del 2,5% del 2023, che rappresenta il tasso di crescita più elevato dal 2007, una tendenza che dovrebbe proseguire anche nel 2025 con una previsione di aumento della domanda in linea con quella prevista per l’anno in corso.
