E' la prima volta che abbiamo un trattamento a bersaglio molecolare su una popolazione già trattata con terapia antiormonale e inibitori delle chinasi ciclino-dipendenti". Lo ha detto all'Adnkronos Salute l'oncologo Paolo Marchetti, presidente della Fondazione per la medicina personalizzata, in occasione di una conferenza stampa promossa oggi a Roma con il contributo non condizionante di Menarini Stemline, con esperti di Fondazione Aiom e Fmp per chiedere che le nuove ormonoterapie orali siano disponibili anche in Italia. "Parliamo di un gruppo di donne abituato per tanti mesi, a volte per 3-4 anni - spiega Marchetti - ad un trattamento ormonale relativamente poco impegnativo e che non turbava la loro vita quotidiana. Quindi poter proseguire con un nuovo trattamento, ancora una volta basato su una terapia ormonale orale, diretta su un specifico bersaglio, ovviamente rappresenta un grande vantaggio". Sulla disponibilità anche in Italia di elacestrant, Marchetti precisai: "Non dipende dagli oncologi, ma dall'Aifa che sta valutando il dossier registrativo e che dovrebbe esprimersi o immediatamente prima o immediatamente dopo l'estate.
