Paolo Comune direttore del Soccorso alpino valdostano, stamane si stava allenando, fuori servizio, insieme a due finanzieri del Sagf, sul versante francese del massiccio del Monte Bianco, proprio nell'area dove si è verificato il distacco di un seracco che, sul Mont Blanc du Tacul, ha provocato un morto e quattro feriti, di cui uno grave."Erano circa le 2.30, abbiamo subito chiamato il Peloton de gendarmerie de haute montagne di Chamonix - spiega Comune - per segnalare il crollo e dare la nostra disponibilità a tornare indietro per aiutare. Ci hanno detto di proseguire e che stavano per arrivare loro in elicottero, dato che avevano già avuto segnalazioni: se necessario, ci avrebbero richiamati". Insieme ai due finanzieri, Comune era partito dal rifugio des Cosmiques all'1,30, per raggiungere la vetta del Monte Bianco lungo la via normale francese dei Trois Mont Blanc. Al momento del crollo, ricorda, "eravamo ancora in parete sul Mont Blanc du Tacul. La traccia in quel punto va verso destra ed eravamo fuori dalla traiettoria del seracco"."Secondo le prime informazioni raccolte, l'origine dell'innesco della caduta del seracco sarebbe naturale". Così la prefettura dell'Alta Savoia (Francia), in una nota, sull'incidente che si è verificato intorno alle 3 sul Monte Blanc de Tacul, nel territorio di Chamonix-Mont-Blanc (Francia), con un bilancio provvisorio di una persona morta, un ferito in "urgenza assoluta" e tre in situazione di "urgenza relativa". Al momento del distacco "diverse cordate di alpinisti si stavano muovendo nelle vicinanze": tutti i 15 alpinisti coinvolti sono stati presi in carico dai servizi di soccorso e condotti negli ospedali di Sallanches e Annecy. Sul posto, dopo l'allarme sono intervenuti elicotteri della gendarmeria nazionale e della protezione civile francese, due squadre cinofile con i soccorritori di vigili del fuoco e del Peloton de gendarmerie de haute montagne di Chamonix oltre al personale sanitario.
