guidato in modo operativo fino al 2020 quando ha passato il testimone a Marco Boglione. Bolognese, ma torinese d’adozione, ha ricoperto diversi ruoli di spicco nel mondo bancario ed è stato presidente della Bnl. Per molti anni dirigente del Partito socialista, fu eletto deputato nel 1996 con Rifondazione comunista, per poi essere tra i fondatori con Armando Cossutta dei Comunisti italiani. Nesi era amico in particolare di Alfonso Guerra. Ovviamente era fuori dalla cerchia di Bettino Craxi. Veniva da una realtà di periferia a Bologna e, molto ferrato in Latino, faceva lezione ai figli di quelle famiglie decisamente povere. Nella scalata alla presidenza della Banca Nazionale del Lavoro era stato agevolato dalla conoscenza e sintonia con Adriano Olivetti che nel frattempo aveva rotto con la grande famiglia sulle prospettive aziendali. Le quali secondo il visionario Adriano contemplavano il salto di qualità ai calcolatori, alla informatica. Mentre la famiglia di Ivrea restava su posizioni tradizionali. Nerio Nesi finì in pratica fuori dal Partito Socialista privato del punto di forza della Bnl. Con Craxi che al Congresso del Psi di Palermo sterilizzava ogni opposizione reale.
