E ora lo fa anche grazie a Carlotta, un personaggio immaginario di 12 anni che, inizialmente, odia la Scienza ma poi finisce per innamorarsi del Cosmo e dei suoi segreti. Carlotta, infatti è la protagonista del libro di Teresa, "L'Universo secondo Carlotta" grazie al quale, oggi, i più giovani possono scoprire la meraviglia di galassie e buchi neri."Questo libro non è solo per tutti quei ragazzi e quelle ragazze che vogliono diventare scienziati - ha spiegato la giovane astronoma - ma è per far capire, prima di tutto che se lo vogliono essere, possono esserlo. Inoltre, dimostra che fare Scienza, va oltre lo studio per una carriera scientifica; è interrogarci, è avere un pensiero critico, è essere curiosi e curiose".Il lavoro di Teresa è importante soprattutto per invogliare le ragazze a interessarsi alle cosiddette materie STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), per molto tempo considerate un appannaggio prevalentemente maschile."È fondamentale avere le donne nella Scienza - ha concluso Teresa - perché le donne hanno semplicemente, statisticamente, la metà delle risposte, proprio come gli uomini hanno l'altra metà.
