ha deposto una corona d'alloro dinanzi alla lapide che ricorda l'impegno del politico antifascista Giacomo Matteotti che, con i suoi interventi alla Camera dei Deputati, denunciò i soprusi del nascente regime dittatoriale.La lapide in marmo, collocata nel 1945 in via Pessina, nel quartiere San Lorenzo, è stata di recente oggetto di un intervento di restauro curato dalla Napoli Servizi, con l'autorizzazione della Soprintendenza Belle Arti e Paesaggio, su impulso dell'Ufficio Cultura e in collaborazione con il Servizio Patrimonio. "Oggi commemoriamo Giacomo Matteotti - ha affermato Manfredi - e lo facciamo anche con il restauro della lapide a lui dedicata in via Pessina. Questo deve essere un momento di riflessione per riaffermare le radici antifasciste della nostra Repubblica e della nostra città, oltre che un'occasione per ricordare il sacrificio di Matteotti che ha testimoniato con il suo impegno civile e politico la difesa dei valori democratici del nostro Paese.
