Sono questi due degli obiettivi degli Stati Generali sull'Ambiente in Campania, promossi dalla Regione nell'ambito del Green Med Expo&Symposium; la tre giorni che si svolge alla Mostra d'Oltremare di Napoli. Molti i dibattiti previsti, dove si confronteranno amministratori, aziende, esperti ed appassionati. Tra le grandi novità dell'iniziativa c'è il progetto "Borghi della Salute e del Benessere", dove le tematiche ambientali si intrecciano con quelle dello sviluppo di aree particolarmente segnate dallo spopolamento e dall'abbandono. Così il presidente della regione Campania Vincenzo De Luca: "Bello questo progetto che riguarda i borghi delle aree interne. Abbiamo immaginato questo progetto intanto per contrastare i processi di spopolamento di quelle aree, ma anche per favorire l'aggregazione dei piccoli comuni. Hanno aderito a questo progetto oltre 350 piccoli comuni, è una cosa incredibile, quindi rifinanzieremo anche con altre risorse. Il progetto consiste in questo, mettersi insieme per fare progetti, come dire, 10-15 comuni alla volta per la valorizzazione culturale, ambientale delle tradizioni storiche, delle tradizioni enogastronomiche, questo significa anche dare forza ai comuni delle aree interne".La scelta di queste aree fatte di piccole realtà che conservano preesistenze storiche, architettoniche, paesaggistiche e soprattutto di valori ben custoditi dalle comunità, nasce con l'intento di recuperare attrattività mettendo in risalto tutte le potenzialità e favorendo un'organizzazione di rete tra i "borghi".
