(askanews) - Il Colonnello dell'Aeronautica Militare Walter Villadei, astronauta italiano della missione spaziale privata Ax-3 di Axiom Space è arrivato in elicottero, con i suoi colleghi d'equipaggio, al Kennedy Space Center, la base Nasa a Cape Canaveral, in Florida, circa 4 ore prima del lancio verso la Stazione Spaziale Internazionale.Sul piazzale di volo c' è stato il tradizionale saluto ai familiari degli astronauti, dopo i 15 giorni trascorsi in quarantena in una località poco distante dalla base. E soprattutto, c'è stato il passaggio di consegne tra Axiom Space e Space X che, con il lanciatore Falcon 9 e la navetta Crew Dragon "Freedom" è responsabile del volo dei 4 astronauti verso la Stazione Spaziale Internazionale, dove il Colonnello Villadei, nell'ambito della missione "Voluntas" effettuerà diversi esperimenti scientifici per conto della Difesa italiana ma anche per l'Agenzia spaziale italiana (Asi) e per alcune industrie nazionali.
