German Medical Association, per uno scambio di opinioni sulle più attuali questioni relative alla regolamentazione e alla legislazione europea sui farmaci e sui dispositivi medici. All'incontro ha preso parte anche il Dirigente del Settore Affari internazionali Enrico Costa.È stato affrontato il tema della prossima revisione della legislazione farmaceutica dell'Unione Europea, che include nuove misure per contrastare le carenze di medicinali, attraverso ad esempio l'ampliamento dei requisiti di stoccaggio e i piani di prevenzione delle carenze. Si è inoltre discusso dell'aggiornamento della Direttiva sul trattamento delle acque reflue urbane, dei nuovi requisiti previsti in materia di impatto ambientale e delle loro implicazioni sulla approvazione di farmaci.Particolare attenzione è stata rivolta al tema dei medicinali di origine vegetale, che in Europa godono di requisiti legali specifici stabiliti oramai vent'anni fa, riconoscendo che esistono i margini per migliorare l'applicazione di queste regole e valutando le possibili direzioni da seguire.Infine, il confronto si è focalizzato sui farmaci da banco nel contesto del sistema sanitario europeo. Per affrontare le malattie minori, è essenziale disporre di un'ampia gamma di farmaci senza obbligo di prescrizione.
