unacrescita sostenibile e l'impegno verso obiettivi sempre piùambiziosi. Fin dalla fondazione Italo è stata fortementeimpegnata nel rispetto e nella tutela dell'ambiente puntandosulla scelta di treni innovativi e sostenibili, favorendoprocessi produttivi meno energivori e con minore impattosull'ambiente". Lo si legge in una nota di Italo."Nel 2023 ha portato a termine il processo di rifinanziamentodella struttura del capitale esistente tramite nuovo prestitobancario green sindacato del valore di 1,4 miliardi di euro.L'operazione, a cui hanno partecipato diversi istituti dicredito nazionali ed internazionali, ha avuto come principaleobiettivo quello di rifinanziare il prestito 2019 (il più grandefinanziamento green a livello globale di sempre nel settore deitrasporti, interamente utilizzato per l'acquisto di trenielettrici di ultima generazione) e finanziare l'ulterioreampliamento della flotta. Contestualmente, l'azienda continua a monitorare il propriolivello di emissioni e ad ampliare i calcoli della catena delvalore e le relative emissioni Scope 3 con l'obiettivo dipoterle ridurre, cogliendo nuove opportunità, per migliorarsi efronteggiando il climate change. Nel corso dell'anno, inoltre,Italo ha gestito le risorse in modo sostenibile riducendol'impatto ambientale attraverso un approccio incentratosull'economia circolare: nel 2023 sono stati prodotti -10,5% dirifiuti rispetto al 2022, di cui il 96% avviati a recupero e il60% differenziati.Italo si è distinta, inoltre, per la cura e l'attenzione neiconfronti dei propri passeggeri fra le società ritenute miglioriper efficienza del servizio clienti ed è stata premiata con ilprimo posto nella classifica Italy's Best Customer Services2023/2024.
