(askanews) - Torna a ruggire, dopo quasi 90 anni, sull'idroscalo dell'Aeronautica Militare a Desenzano del Garda, il motore Fiat AS.6 dell'idrovolante Macchi Castoldi MC-72 con il quale proprio su queste acque, il 23 ottobre del 1934, il Maresciallo pilota Francesco Agello conquistò il record mondiale di velocità per idrocorsa, tuttora imbattuto, raggiungendo 709,202 km all'ora.L'evento si è svolto nell'ambito delle attività del Centenario dell'Aeronautica Militare, grazie alla collaborazione tra il 6° Stormo "Diavoli Rossi" di Ghedi, in provincia di Brescia che ha giurisdizione sulla storica base per idrovolanti e il comune di Desenzano, con il supporto del Museo Storico dell'Aeronautica di Vigna di Valle.Il Colonnello Luca Giuseppe Vitaliti è il comandante del 6° Stormo."È una delle innumerevoli tappe che l'Aeronautica e il Paese han compiuto in questi 100 anni - ha detto - questo è un motore che ha consentito un record di velocità tuttora imbattuto, è un motore che risponde con delle soluzioni a innumerevoli problematiche di carattere tecnico che limitavano la massima espressione di potenza e che ha consentito, non solo di conseguire un record ma ha lasciato, nel patrimonio motoristico e tecnologico, un'eredità che ha consentito di migliorare prestazioni ed efficienza e con risultati che hanno elevato enormemente la qualità della nostra vita e, soprattutto, sono stati un fattore determinante per la crescita e lo sviluppo del nostro Paese". L'idroscalo di Desenzano del Garda, uno dei più antichi d'Italia, è indissolubilmente legato al nome di Gabriele D'Annunzio che ne fu anche comandante. Il Vate ricoverò qui il suo idrovolante, l'Alcione e fece erigere il pennone di 20 metri per la bandiera, il cui fregio originale si può ancora ammirare negli hangar.La cerimonia ha richiamato centinaia di persone che, dopo l'alzabandiera e la deposizione di una corona ai caduti, presenziate dal Generale di Squadra Aerea Silvano Frigerio, comandante delle Scuole e della Terza Regione Aerea dell'Aeronautica Militare, hanno potuto visitare la mostra speciale dedicata alla coppa Schneider e al Reparto Alta Velocità e assistere a conferenze, fino al momento culminante della giornata, cioè la messa in moto del motore, restaurato dall'équipe dell'associazione "Il Magnete", guidata da Leonardo Sordi."È stato molto emozionante riportarlo in vita da noi, quando l'messo in moto la prima volta in laboratorio - ha confessato - è stato ancora più emozionante averlo riportato a casa sua perché, alla fine, questo è il luogo dove questi motori correvano e si sono sviluppati.
