(askanews) - Dopo 35 anni di onorato servizio l'Aeronautica Militare dice addio al caccia AMX "Ghibli".La cerimonia di congedo è avvenuta venerdì 5 aprile 2024 sulla base aerea di Istrana, in provincia di Treviso, alla quale, nel 1989, fu assegnato il primo esemplare.Il clou dell'evento è stato il sorvolo di una formazione di AMX scortati da un Tornado, un Eurofighter e un F-35: in pratica tutte le generazioni di velivoli aero-tattici attualmente in linea nella Forza Armata.Erano presenti diverse autorità istituzionali, militari, civili e religiose tra le quali lo stesso Capo di Stato Maggiore dell'Aeronautica, Generale di Squadra Aerea Luca Goretti che questo velivolo lo ha pilotato nella sua carriera e non ha voluto rinunciare a un ultimo volo su quello che, amichevolmente, viene chiamato dai piloti "il topone"."Salutiamo, anche con un pizzico di amarezza, un velivolo che ha fatto la storia dell'Aeronautica - ha detto il Generale Goretti - ma la storia va avanti e l'Aeronautica è proiettata verso il futuro, è proiettata verso lo Spazio e, quindi, dobbiamo sicuramente guardare i nuovi orizzonti. Oggi abbiamo la linea F-35 che sta crescendo in maniera rapida, l'Eurofighter ormai rappresenta la spina dorsale dell'Aeronautica e, con l'avvento del GCAP (Global Combat Air Programme, ndr) e con l'attività internazionale con i giapponesi e con gli inglesi, sicuramente siamo proiettati verso un futuro ricco di soddisfazioni".L'AMX è tra i velivoli della Forza Armata che ha caratterizzato la storia recente dell'Aeronautica Militare e il jet aero-tattico maggiormente impiegato nelle missioni fuori dai confini nazionali.Nato dalla collaborazione tra l'industria aeronautica italiana e quella brasiliana, il primo AMX dell'Aeronautica Militare fu assegnato al 103° Gruppo Volo del 51° Stormo di Istrana, per poi entrare in linea successivamente anche al 2° Stormo di Rivolto, al 3° Stormo di Villafranca e al 32° Stormo di Amendola, per andare progressivamente a sostituire i G.91R e gli F-104.In 35 anni di servizio, con oltre 240mila ore di volo di cui 18.500 in operazioni reali, l'AMX ha solcato i cieli di 33 nazioni, in otto diversi teatri operativi e nell'ambito di numerose esercitazioni internazionali svolgendo un'ampia gamma di missioni al servizio del Paese e della Nato, da quelle di interdizione e attacco al suolo, a quelle di scorta e supporto al contingente di terra, a quelle di ricognizione nell'ambito di missioni ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance e Recognition).Quattro velivoli ancora operativi - due monoposto e due biposto - concluderanno nelle prossime settimane la loro attività atterrando all'aeroporto di Piacenza, sede individuata per la futura realizzazione del Flying Museum dell''Aeronautica Militare.A suggellare l'evento di Istrana anche la presenza della Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale "Frecce Tricolori". di Askanews   05-04-2024 - 18:51 Link copiato Commenti Leggi la Netiquette
