(Adnkronos Salute) - La progressiva dismissione dell'uso (commercializzazione e impiego clinico) dell'amalgama dentale in ambito odontostomatologico, fino alla completa eliminazione di tale uso entro il 31 dicembre 2024. E' l'obiettivo del Protocollo d'intesa che disciplina la collaborazione tra il ministero della Salute e tutti gli attori coinvolti e individuati dal Piano nazionale per l'eliminazione dell'utilizzo dell'amalgama dentale. L'amalgama, impiegata per riempire le cavità prodotte dalle carie, contiene diversi metalli, specificatamente il mercurio, e può provocare reazioni allergiche. Il Regolamento (Ue) 2017/852 sul mercurio, recentemente modificato dal Regolamento (Ue) 2024/1849 del 13 giugno 2024, "ha previsto che a decorrere dal primo gennaio 2019 l'amalgama dentale possa essere usata solo in forma incapsulata predosata e che l'utilizzo del mercurio in forma libera sia vietato da parte dei dentisti - si legge sul sito del ministero della Salute - Inoltre, gli studi odontoiatrici che utilizzano l'amalgama dentale o rimuovono otturazioni contenenti amalgama dentale garantiscono misure che impediscano l'esposizione del paziente al mercurio in fase di rimozione e l'utilizzo di separatori di amalgama al fine di raccogliere tali rifiuti e di smaltirli correttamente per evitare il diffondersi del mercurio nell'ambiente". Come richiesto dal Regolamento (Ue) 2017/852, ciascun Stato membro dell'Unione europea ha definito il proprio Piano nazionale relativo alle misure da adottare per eliminare gradualmente l'utilizzo dell'amalgama dentale.In Italia il Piano nazionale ha previsto, tra le diverse azioni, anche la sottoscrizione di un protocollo di intesa che disciplina il rapporto di collaborazione tra ministero della Salute, il ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy, il ministero dell'Ambiente e della Sicurezza energetica e gli attori individuati nel piano: Associazione nazionale commercio articoli dentali (Ancad), Unione nazionale industrie dentarie italiane (Unidi), Collegio dei docenti universitari di discipline odontostomatologiche, Federazione nazionale degli ordini dei medici e degli odontoiatri - Commissione albo odontoiatri (Cao nazionale), associazioni professionali degli odontoiatri (Andi, Aio, Adi) e associazioni dei consumatori (Associazione consumatori utenti, Centro per i diritti del cittadino, Cittadinanzattiva, Federconsumatori, Movimento consumatori). di Adnkronos   08-08-2024 - 18:12 Link copiato Commenti Leggi la Netiquette
