(Adnkronos Salute) - “È inaccettabile che il 50% delle donne non risponda allo screening mammografico: sono circa 6 milioni tra i 45 e 75 anni”, ma nel Sud le percentuali sono molto più basse. “I vantaggi dell’adesione agli screening sono chiari non solo per la donna, ma anche per il Servizio sanitario nazionale. Per la donna è evidente: si fa una rilevazione affidabile. Per il Ssn, è altrettanto ovvio: costa meno monitorare una persona sana rispetto ai trattamenti per una che trova un tumore avanzato”. Lo ha detto Rosanna D’Antona, presidente di Europa Donna Italia e nel board di Fondazione Aiom, Associazione italiana di oncologia medica, oggi, a Roma, alla presentazione della campagna nazionale ‘Tumori, scegli la prevenzione’, realizzata promossa dalla fondazione Aiom con il contributo non condizionato di Daiichi Sankyo Italy. Oltre a partecipare a questa iniziativa, “come associazione - continua D’Antona - stiamo portando avanti a livello di ministero, con policy brief, la richiesta dell’unificazione dell’età di screening: in alcune regioni è 45 anni e in altre 50. L’altra cosa su cui siamo impegnati è la promozione di strumenti meno obsoleti della lettera per la chiamata allo screening. Qui c’è una barriera che va regolamentata con il garante della privacy. Alcune regioni - illustra - hanno iniziato a favorire l’accesso agli screening con mezzi digitali. Il Lazio ha attivato un’operazione, con Federfarma per gli screening di tumore al colon-retto, cervice uterina e mammografia”. Una cosa simile è stata fatta “in Lombardia con Ambra Angiolini” come testimonial per lo screening mammografico “per le donne che, in attesa della chiamata, potevano lasciare i loro dati nel portale dedicato per essere contattate. Anche la Puglia ha messo in piedi una piattaforma di ricevimento con indicazione spontanea del paziente che, se rientra nei canoni dello screening viene chiamato.
