soddisfatto del fatto che il Presidente della Repubblica Sergio Mattarella ha firmato sia il provvedimento sulle carceri, sia l'abolizione dell'abuso d'ufficio. "Ha firmato e non ne abbiamo mai dubitato. Anche perchè i saggi consigli del presidente sono sempre stati tenuti in altissima considerazione" dice in una intervista a "Il Giornale". Su quanto riportato da alcuni giornali che scrivevano che il presidente non voleva firmare la norma sull'abuso d'ufficio perchè non era d'accordo. Nordio risponde: "Sono rimasto abbastanza sorpreso delle anticipazioni fantasiose, una vera e propria ragnatela di mitologia, diffuse in questi giorni. Io capisco le polemiche anche aspre della politica, ma noto da parte dell'opposizione e di una certa stampa una sorta di lucidità nei loro propositi costantemente mediocri: quelli di inventarsi conflitti inesistenti, per mettere in imbarazzo le più alte istituzioni dello Stato. E questo non va bene".Alla domanda sul perchè dopo lo scontro in aula con le opposizioni avesse chiesto un incontro col Presidente della Repubblica, risponde: "Il presidente ha sempre dimostrato una grande sensibilità sui problemi delle carceri, e quindi abbiamo deciso che fosse opportuno informarlo sulle iniziative che stiamo adottando. Per di più, quale presidente del Csm, dev'essere informato delle difficoltà che troviamo nella soluzione del problema dei giudici di sorveglianza". "Sono pochi.
