(askanews) - L'Aeroporto di Milano-Bergamo Orio al Serio ha inaugurato, martedì 30 gennaio 2024, un nuovo tratto dell'anello ciclopedonale, realizzato nell'area nord-est del perimetro aeroportuale. Lungo 1.800 metri, va da via Paderno di Seriate fino al sentiero di avvicinamento della testata 28, in congiunzione con la ciclovia del Parco del Serio. Un progetto di mobilità sostenibile che va incontro alle politiche ambientali sposate dal management dello scalo, come ha sottolineato Giovanni Sanga, presidente di Sacbo la società che gestisce l'aeroporto."È un tema che a Sacbo sta molto a cuore - ha detto - che si collega anche a tutte le opportunità che la rete delle ciclovie, a Bergamo, in Lombardia e a livello nazionale può offrire che può essere una grande opportunità anche sul piano turistico ma, davvero, sul piano ambientale e della sostenibilità è un percorso da proseguire". Entro l'anno sarà realizzato un ulteriore tratto che consentirà la connessione con altre ciclovie esistenti, creando un percorso turistico capace di collegare non solo i comuni limitrofi ma anche città come Monaco di Baviera e Milano (con la futura ciclovia Muovimi), come hanno sottolineato Pasquale Gandolfi, presidente della Provincia di Bergamo e Cristian Vezzoli, sindaco di Seriate."Avere la possibilità anche di collegamenti pedonali attorno all'aeroporto - ha detto Gandolfi - credo che sia il futuro di un'infrastruttura fondamentale per portare anche un turismo diverso rispetto a quello che fino ad oggi ha visto il nostro territorio"."È un giorno importante per i miei cittadini e non solo per gli sportivi - ha aggiunto Vezzoli - e auguro che venga utilizzata dalle famiglie, dai giovani e da tutti i seriatesi".Sacbo, inoltre, ha co-finanziato assieme ad alcuni comuni della zona, con il supporto di Regione Lombardia e Provincia di Bergamo, il progetto "My Castle Street" per creare un "percorso dolce" di collegamento tra i castelli di Malpaga, Cavernago e Costa di Mezzate.
