I ricercatori, attraverso la piattaforma sviluppata durante il Covid-19, hanno disegnato e prodotto nuove molecole peptidiche (miniproteine) in grado di inibire l'ingresso del virus originale e delle sue varianti nelle cellule dell'ospite modificandone "la chiave per entrare".L'utilizzo dei peptidi sia a scopo preventivo sia terapeutico nella lotta contro il COVID-19 rappresenta un interessante approccio che garantisce efficacia, specificità e tollerabilità. Infatti, le molecole peptidiche possono essere utilizzate in modo rapido e versatile e di supporto ai vaccini.
